Updated over a month ago

Overview: By the end of this guide, you will understand the best practice to customise Active Ledger & Reporting.

Please refer to the Glossary for definitions of key terms used in this article.

Overview

There are a number of customisation steps we recommend as best practice for the admin user to follow in order to customise Active Ledger & Reporting.

The steps are as follows:

  1. Add firm logo

  2. Add default firm colour

  3. Customise report masters

  4. Customise standard chart of accounts

Note: We understand that every firm is different and will want to customise different aspects of Active Ledger & Reporting. We recommend you work through the different customisation steps in order (as above).

1. Add firm logo

The first step is to add your firm's logo so you are able to add this to your reports. This will ensure all your reports are generated with a generic firm logo.

For information on how to do this, click here.

2. Add default firm colour

Next, add a default colour for your firm so all your reports are generated with the firm's colour.

To do this, navigate to the Global Report Settings within the Ledger Admin Centre and specify a colour under 'Brand Colour (Hex)'.

3. Customise report masters

After you have added a firm logo and colour, it is recommended that you customise the report masters to further ensure your reports are generated according to your firms brand.

4. Customise standard chart of accounts

Finally, customise the standard chart of accounts to suit your firm. We recommend that you add standard income and expense accounts in the profit and loss section of the standard chart, and add standard headers in the balance sheet section.
