Updated over a week ago

Overview: A binder type refers to the structure used to create a binder for a specific purpose, such as preparing annual accounts, tax returns, or other compliance jobs.

Please refer to the Glossary for definitions of key terms used in this article.

Add a firm binder type

From the Admin Centre, click on Binder Types under the Workpapers banner.

This ships a list of default binder types offered through the Active Platform as part of your subscription. This list may slightly depending on the jurisdiction/s you are in.

To add a new firm binder type, click + Add Binder Type.

Ensure the 'Active' checkbox is selected to make your new binder type is available for your firms users to access.

Give your binder type a name, such as 'Payroll Tax'. Select a date range where you want the binder type to be available for. You can either select dates for a standard financial year (i.e. 1 July to 30 June), or for a fringe benefits tax year (i.e. 1 April to 31 March).

Click Save.

Your binder type will now be available for selection, as below.
