Overview: When exporting a balancing journal from Active Workpapers or the Active Ledger module to Xero, users may find that the journal does not appear in the Xero source accounting file.
Cause
Xero does not support posting to certain system accounts. As a result, journals exported from Active that include these accounts are not posted automatically in Xero and are instead placed in Drafts.
Workaround/Resolution:
Open your Xero source accounting file. In the Accounting menu, select Reports. Find and open the Journal Report. Click Go to manual journals in the top right corner, then select the Draft tab.
One reason the journal may not have posted is if you inspect the exported balancing journal in Active and verify if any of the line items in the journal is posting to one of the following accounts with 'No' as the specified value:
Tip: Common system accounts that clients might attempt to post to in Active include: bank accounts, accounts payable/receivable, current earnings, unrealised foreign exchange (FX) gains, and wage accounts. These are not supported by Xero to be posted to for Journals.
