Assist users in understanding why a disposed pooled asset appears in an Assets report

Overview: Disposed Assets Appearing in the Assets Report

It is important to note that the appearance of a disposed asset in the Assets report is not an error but expected behaviour. In a pooled asset scenario, individual asset values are not tracked separately; instead, they contribute to the overall pool balance. Even after disposal, the individual asset's written-down value(CWDV) continues to impact the overall pool balance, which is why it still appears in the Assets report.

Disposed Assets in a Pooled Asset Scenario

In a pooled asset scenario, the value of individual assets isn't tracked separately but as part of a collective pool. When one of these assets is disposed of, its CWDV continues to have an ongoing impact on the pool balance.

This is mathematically accurate and reflects the ongoing contribution of the disposed asset to the current pool balance, which is a fundamental aspect of how pools function.

Potential Remedies

That said, we have a feature request logged in our system to consolidate previously disposed assets into a single line item ("Effects of Previously Disposed Assets"). This will help eliminate any confusion caused by individually listed disposed assets.

As a side note:
2) If you wish to show assets that are NOT in a pool, you can easily separate assets in the pool into their own asset group using our 'bulk move' feature, thus enabling you to report in detail on those assets which are not in the pool (all reporting features let you easily filter in/out individual asset groups).
