Error

When opening a binder in Excel and signing in with a Microsoft account, users may occasionally encounter a "Something went wrong [7anyj]" error.

Cause

This issue can arise due to conflicting email addresses logged into Excel Desktop.


Resolution

  1. Sign out of Excel desktop completely.

  2. Open the binder directly from the Active Workpapers website.

If the issue persists, clear the contents of the following folders:

  • C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneAuth

  • C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\IdentityCache
