Issue

Users may encounter an error when inserting a custom record template into a binder, receiving the following error message:

'There was a problem inserting worksheet "". If this is part of a rollover, please check that the sheet name matches in the original workbook.'

Cause

This error is likely due to an issue with the uploaded record template.

Resolution

Use of irregular characters

This error can be due to the use of irregular characters in the sheet name that was uploaded as a custom record template in Active.

To fix this, ensure that the sheet name inside the workbook does not contain any irregular characters like a currency symbol.

If rolling over the sheet from a prior-year binder, also check that the relevant sheet name in the prior-year binder does not contain any irregular characters.

WARNING: To ensure seamless data flow between worksheets and proper rollover functionality, DO NOT rename any sheets directly using the tabs at the bottom of Excel. Instead, rename the record via the taskpane as needed.

Ensure correct file type

Ensure the workbook uploaded as a custom record template is in the .xlsx format and is file type 'Microsoft Excel Worksheet'

Tip: When saving your custom workbook in Excel, please choose the 'Excel Workbook' option below inorder for the file type to save as 'Microsoft Excel Worksheet'.

We do not support Macro-Enabled Worksheets.
