How to remove footer from Active Workpapers when printing in Excel

To assist users in removing the copyright footer from Active Workpapers sheets when printing in Excel.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Issue

When printing an Excel workbook that contains active worksheets, users may notice a copyright footer appearing at the bottom of each page in the print preview.

Resolution

This issue occurs because Excel is picking up footer information embedded within the workpaper. To remove or adjust the footer in Excel:

  1. Go to File > Print.

  2. Click Page Setup at the bottom of the print preview pane.

  3. Navigate to the Header/Footer tab.

  4. Under Footer, choose 'None' or select a more appropriate option, such as 'Page Number' from the dropdown menu.

  5. Then print the document (you can print to PDF as well).

Any settings saved here will be retained and applied across future print jobs on this computer.
