Overview: This article explains how to troubleshoot dates not displaying correctly in Workpapers, showing year '1901' in some cases.
Cause
Home sheet distortion or add-in failing to provision the sheet properly.
Resolution
1. Ensure Excel is up to date
Confirm you're using a supported version of Excel. Refer to our system requirements page.
2: Refresh the Excel taskpane
Right-click anywhere in the Active Workpapers taskpane in Excel
Select "Refresh" from the context menu
Wait 30 seconds for the add-in to reload
3. Optimise performance
While in the relevant workpaper, click Optimise Performance in the Active Workpapers ribbon above. Wait 10 seconds and see if it resolves the issue.
4. Recreate the home sheet
Right-click on any Excel sheet tab at the bottom and choose Unhide.
Select the Home sheet and unhide it.
Right-click the Home sheet and select Delete.
In the Excel taskpane, right-click and choose Refresh.
This action recreates the Home sheet where dates are referenced from, which may fix those date errors.
