Issue

Users may encounter 'Request aborted' errors when inserting workpapers, particularly BAS lodgement and ICA account records.

This issue relates to how AutoSave interacts with SharePoint synchronisation during sheet insertion.

This can result in:

  • Failed sheet insertions

  • Duplicate workpapers

  • Incorrect dates

  • Extended loading times

Temporary solution

  1. Before adding new worksheets:

    • Turn OFF AutoSave.

    • Look for the AutoSave toggle in the top-left corner of Excel.

  2. Add your worksheets.

  3. Immediately after completion:

    • Turn AutoSave back ON.

    • This step is crucial for normal SharePoint synchronisation.

Important notes

  • Only disable AutoSave when adding new worksheets.

  • Keep AutoSave enabled during all other work.

  • Safe to delete any duplicate sheets that appeared previously.

  • Works for both local and VPN connections.
