Overview: Clients encounter the following error when attempting to load data from a MYOB file in an Active Ledger Dataset: "Your my.myob account or the supplied credentials do not allow you to access this file."
Cause
This error could stem from any of the following reasons:
Option 1: The user is logged into app.myob.com on the same browser with a myob login that lacks access to that specific MYOB file.
Option 2: The user's my.myob email is not associated with a UserId in that particular MYOB file.
Option 3: The user's access is restricted or insufficient, limiting API access to the file due to assigned roles.
Option 4: The user's UserId in MYOB might be inactive.

Resolution
To resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:
Log out of the Active platform/Smart Workpapers.
Visit app.myob.com, log out, and then log back in using the correct credentials. Ensure you can fully open the relevant MYOB file and perform any updates if prompted.
Log back into your Active platform/Smart Workpapers.
For Active Platform:
Navigate to Settings and Tools (for your ledger dataset or Active binder) > Manage Sources > Click Update Connection or Switch User. Then log in through the MYOB login screen to refresh the connection.
β
βFor Smart Workpapers:Navigate to the Connections page and refresh the connection to the MYOB source.
Verify that the MYOB User ID and password entered on the source screen are correct. Finally, click Save Source and then the Load Data or Reimport button, as applicable.
If the issue persists, click your name at the top right > Connections and ensure the email used to log into the MYOB connection is correct.
Additional Notes
If connecting to a "MYOB Essentials" source, try selecting "MYOB AccountRight" instead. Most MYOB Essentials files have migrated to MYOB Business, which uses the new Accountright API.
For Advisor users connecting to a MYOB file, leave the User ID and Password fields blank when setting up the connection.
